CITIZEN - CAD DOCUMENTATION   Reported to Eureka Police Department

2/2/23 at 9:16:41 AM

Incident details:

RP asked to speak with me regarding a fight that occurred in the boys bathroom the day before. RP was able to obtain a video of the fight. Which showed a student punching another student in the boys bathroom on HS campus. This student in question was suspended by EHS staff. The victim in this incident did not want to cooperate with EHS staff or myself. The RP told me that he believes the school can act on behalf of a victim student and pursue charges. I informed the RP that was not the case unless it was a serious felony and the student and his parents would have to request to pursue charges, which would be handled by myself. The RP later spoke with his supervisor who also informed I was correct in my evaluation of the incident.
