5/21/23 at 12:20:44 PM
Incident details:
Student had money stolen from bag that was in gym locker room. Student had suspicions that it was the school janitor who was stealing so he set up phone to record the janitor which caught him snooping through kid's bags. They brought this to the school's attention and they put that student on detention and said he needs to delete the video. The video did not capture any students, just the janitor. - IO contacted RP via landline who provided further information regarding a student who is a victim of a theft. Information forwarded to SRO for followup with the school. - IO followed up with SVHS administrative staff regarding this incident. IO confirmed the school janitor, (M) was seen on camera going through student's backpacks in the locker room. However, he was not seen actually taking anything from the backpacks. SVHS administrative staff confirmed the student who had taken the video recording had violated school rules by taking a video recording in the locker rooms and by video taping a staff member without consent and would receive an administrative punishment to be decided. SVHS administrative staff also confirmed they would be handling the consequences for the through their HR department.
